Event Information
The Dowerin Tin Dog Triathlon 2026
The annual Dowerin Tin Dog Triathlon event will take place on Saturday 14 March 2026.
This unique rural Triathlon is a short course format with x3 race distances for both Individual and Team entries. Race distances for kids 8Yrs to adult age groups, including a Fun course, Short and Sprint distance. Includes a pool swim (50m lengths) a unique bike course with a touch of mild gravel in parts. Prizes and as always a FREE post race refreshments and sausage sizzle!

Swim - Pool Swim 50m laps

Bike - Bitumen and small gravel components with one gentle gradient otherwise flat.

Run - Path-Bitumen and gravel mix with one gentle gradient otherwise flat with a nice fast section at the start of each lap.

Race Day Schedule
On race day, please arrive between 6am and 7am at the Dowerin Memorial Swimming Pool. The earlier the better! Late Entries will be available on race morning but be sure to get there early to do this.

We recommend to stay at the race venue after your race for the prize giving as there are Winner and Runner up podium awards for all races and of course the Free Sausage Sizzle thanks to the Dowerin Gourmet Butcher Shop.
Race Check in
All participants must 'check-in' on race morning to ensure two important items:

You collect your race specific event race Bib number (Teams and Individuals). Please bring a form of Id for this purpose.

You sign the event waiver if you did not complete this online. You will not be provided a race bib, be permitted to race or receive a finishers time if you have not signed the event waiver. The registration desk team will advise if you still need to complete this.
Timing
All participants individual and teams will be provided an overall recorded finish time but this is not guaranteed. Please be sure to take you finish token to the registration/timing desk when you finish to ensure your Race Bib and name is recorded.
Bag Drop
No formal designated area is zoned for a bag drop. We suggest to leave bags within the grounds of the Pool during the event. Please note that this is not secure and athletes do so at their own risk. Bags cannot be left in the Transition area during the event, only your race gear.
Sun Protection
This event has limited infrastructure and shade so please be sure to bring a hat and other sun protection options and stay well hydrated before during and after the event. There will be an aid station on the run course with water as well as a finish aid station.
Parking
Important!!! - please take note of parking guidelines and restrictions. There is ample parking options available close to the race venue at the Dowerin Memorial Pool. As road closures will be in place please avoid parking on the road.
Race Photographs
The organisers of this event will capture some of the race action. These will be freely available on the race Facebook page in a day or two after the event.
Presentations
All presentations will take place at approximately 09:45. The presentations times are subject to change and will start earlier if ahead of schedule and followed by the FREE Sausage Sizzle!

Please familiarise yourself with the course map and description of each race as well as the transition area, entry and exit points. It is every athletes responsibility to ensure they know the race route. The course maps will be available near the Registration area on race morning, please take the time to familiarise yourself with the course.
